The Good Samaritan

Luke 10:33
“But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him.”
Artist’s Interpretation:
Jews and Samaritan’s hated each other. In this parable, Jesus answers the question, “Who is my neighbor?” in response to his command to love your neighbor as yourself. In the painting, both the priest and the Levite are frozen empty figures that have passed by the injured man. The hated Samaritan is the one who showed mercy giving not only help, but also money for his care. Here, Jesus shows that love transcends prejudice and national boundaries.
