Genesis 7: 17,22,23
For forty days the flood kept coming on the earth and as the waters increased, they lifted the ark high above the earth. Everything on dry land that had the breath of life in its nostrils died. Only Noah was left and those with him in the Ark.
Artist’s Interpretation:
“In the tumult of the water and destruction, the masses of humanity swarm in the waves. Chaos has returned. God brought away his chosen. Above the chaos, the ark tilts perilously, the animals crammed in, and one of Noah’s sons weeps tears for the victims. Despite God’s intent to purge the world of evil, the serpent sneaks aboard.”
